Purpose and Vision

The African Union Sixth Region Group (AU6RG) has established the Africa Diaspora Choice Award Gala and Business Summit to honor individuals who excel in advancing the community. The event aims to become an annual tradition, celebrating those who have overcome the challenges of 2024. It emphasizes the importance of hard work and dedication in uplifting the African Diaspora, inspiring future generations to pursue excellence and make positive contributions to their communities and the world. Through this prestigious celebration, AU6RG seeks to create lasting impacts that unite and drive positive change within the diaspora and beyond.

 

Event Features

The Africa Diaspora Awards celebration will utilize three key platforms to engage the diverse global African diaspora community that will be converging on Toronto.

  3. Award Gala, with the opportunity to exhibit company and products during both the business summit and award gala.

These individuals exemplify resilience and innovation, driving positive change and inspiring their peers. Their leadership is a testament to the transformative power of youth in shaping a prosperous future for the African Diaspora and beyond.

  • Acknowledges individuals and organizations making significant contributions to health and wellness, including medical research, public health initiatives, and healthcare delivery.

  • Honors efforts in environmental conservation, sustainability initiatives, and projects addressing climate change and ecological preservation.

  • Recognizes excellence in the financial sector, including banking, investment, financial planning, and economic development. This category honors individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to financial literacy, economic growth, and financial innovation within the diaspora.   
  1. Lifetime Achievement Award
  • A special recognition for individuals who have dedicated their lives to making significant contributions in their fields and communities.
  1. African Country Recognition Award
  • The African Country Recognition Award celebrates a nation’s exceptional contributions to the African Diaspora’s growth and prosperity. This accolade honors the country’s leadership, innovation, and commitment to fostering economic development, unity, and cultural heritage. Their efforts have significantly advanced collective progress and strengthened global ties within the African community.
